San Francisco, out of sight, still deep in my mind

Two weeks since I left the golden coast, but feels like years since I walked the Hills of San Francisco. Miss it a lot, miss the views, the colours, coffee to go on every corner, our sports car, Taylor street, fresh walnuts, the feeling of lightness, happiness and freedom.
Back in Denmark now, small, flat, boring, - no need to say more.

I´ll be back whenever there will be an interesting change of scenery.
Best,
Katja

So long California....

Leaving California, sad to leave, but I am full of wonderful experiences and memories. Here a last look on the Pacific ocean, - in a few hours I am crossing The Atlantic Ocean heading to Oslo... wonder how it will be to come home.

Bye, bye baby.....

Time has come to wrap up and check out from San Francisco, California for this time. Witch also means selling off this beauty.... We got $580 for it, $20 less than we bought it for, but it sure was a pleasure to be car owner for some months.
Here pictures from "the Beauty" on Hollywood Blvd. and on a LA gas station.
Thanks for the memories!

Venice Beach

Venice Beach, Los Angeles, is some place... Even though this day was clouded, the light here is incredible strong and white. The beach line is filled with all kind of special people, we especially liked this Tarot card and palm reading women. She has been sitting here for 20 years... Esther let her read her future... and now we are all waiting curiously for the knit in shining armer to come along. and four kids,.. speed up girl!

An old dream came true

I can´t believe it... My all time hero Mitch Bucannan was not there to save me...
But, his tower was still there and Santa Monica Beach, Los Angeles, was very familiar to me from Baywatch. Great fun to be there, even though there were no one to save this Tuesday morning. (see how I dressed in red this day..)

Hit and run

My hood is a quite rough one. But I live on a rather friendly street. Well, more or less every morning when I walk up my street there are glass on the ground from a broken car window so, so safe is Franklin st. not... NEVER leave something in your car. Anyways, here a street I like to take in day light, early mornings especially. At night, and even evenings I am not too keen on this street... lots of "Adults theatre" kind of things.... Well, here a white bike locked here, decorated with white flowers and a sign saying; Hit´n run, 01.27 2006. means a car once hit a person on a bike here and then took off. The biker died...

Birthday lunch in Mission

Yesterday was the big "Celebrate Lizzys 27 years day" and we took it out on Tartine bakery in Mission. - big time...
Even on of the men on out table, who was a stranger, comment on that "oh, you two must be hungry". Well, that´s not exactly a pick up line is it.. Still we decided to have dessert after that and with the dessert came again the "where are you from- conversation" and again we listed all the differences between U.S and Scandinavia. Somehow I feel I´ve had that conversation quite a few times the last three months...

An incredible city

wish I could find a way to explain what a special city this is, all the totally crazy people I see and meet daily, how it is to sit right here in this coffee shop, Cup of Joe at Sutter crossing Leavenworth, how it is to walk home through my hood late at night, how the lights shifts through out the day, from a very bright, white, foggy morning light to an all clear sky full of stars in the evenings. Beautiful. I have so many special views and experiences on my way through San Fran. Come, and we´ll walk the talk!

ms. Golden Gate Babe

Sushi over kill...??

Here a sunny Sunday in Japan Town, San Francisco. It is very different from the busy, noisy China Town. But, everything is very Japanese, - at least that is what I believe... I have never been in Japan.. would love to go there!
My head line here says something about Sushi. and it is something about Sushi I like a lot. (hope it is not only that it is trendy to be a sushi fan... haha.) But, I think what I like so much about Sushi is that it taste so very different from everything I know from before. I like to put it like this: Italian, French, Norwegian (what ever that is..) Mexican, even Greek food you can put ketchup on, but you would never ever use ketchup on sushi!

Have had a lot of sushi over here, probably two or three times a week..., from fancy schmanzy sushi, to cheep vacuumed packed sushi, to country station sushi, - but always the avocado maki rolls and lots and lots of ginger.

Smoky streets

Hvorfor er det alltid sånn på filmer fra Uniten at det siver røyk opp av gatene? selv her rett utenfor rådhuset i San Francisco er det... Ja, det ser jo for alt del stilig og urbant ut.
